OSBL project consists of a Raw water treatment plant, DM water treatment plant, ASU unit, 5 no Cooling towers and PET OSBL unit. The PET OSBL unit consist LP and HP air compressors, Instrument air booster compressor, Instrument air dryer and Chiller package. The projects comprises of verification of all instrument related documents given by DEC and other suppliers against various standards. Inspection of instruments on receipt at site. Preparation of various checklists on item reception and supervising at time of installation. Conducting Factory Acceptance Tests of PLCs and DCS. Commissioning of Sulphate Removal Scheme (SRS Capex) Client: on site Status: Completed in May 2011 Installation and commissioning of instruments of SRS using Nano-filteration of brine in place of sulphate removal by adding Barium Carbonate and allowed to precipitate as Barium sulphate sludge at CA plant. Logic modification of Chlorine Compressor Client: Onsite Status: Completed in March 2012 Logic modification was proposed to avoid spurious trips of compressor. Logic modification were done in trip related loops for i) Vibration probes: As per the existing logicX & Y probes of radial vibration (VI 3402 & VI3403) were considered in OR logic ie the machine will trip if any one of the probe senses high vibration. This logic was modified to AND logic ie the compressor will trip if both X & Y probe sense vibration. ii) Tags TAHH 3503/06/09/12: These are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th stage discharge temperatures. In all the above tags existing logic is 1oo1. It was modified to 2oo3 logic. For all the above tags one TG or one RTD point were available other than the existing loop. By installing Duplex RTD with two temperature transmitters 2oo3 logic completed. iii) Motor lube oil pressure: By introducing two transmitters in this loop parallel to the existing transmitter 3 loops were created and 2oo3 logic implemented. Capacity Expansion (CAPEX) project for commissioning of Hydrogen Compressor Client: Onsite Status: Completed in April 2009 The objective of this project was to utilize the surplus hydrogen production by installing a new reciprocating compressor for the usage of hydrogen gas as a fuel in various other petrochemical plants. Shifting of control loops of OLD Hydrogen compressor from LCP to DCS Client: onsite Status: Completed in Nov 2010 This compressor was used to increase hydrogen pressure from 0,2 kg to 18 kg. Shifting of complete logic and control loops from LCP to DCS/LM was proposed as the PLC in LCP was obsolete. After this modification alarm and trip indication were made available on DCS. Installation of BBVMS system controller Client: onsite Status: Completed in June 2010 Block Voltage Monitoring system (BVMS) controllers are used to measure the block voltage deviation of the electrolyzer and thereby generating alarm and trip signal for individual electrolyzer.. SHUTDOWN EXPERIENCES Annual shutdown of CA plant for the years 2008 to 2012: calibration of various pressure, level and flow transmitters, calibration of various control valves, calibration of pressure and level switches, Bently Nevada make Vibration monitoring System checking of Chlorine compressor, Trip and Interlock checking of whole plant, Bulk power supply load testing, Thermography of instruments panels and LCP, Analyzer maintenance and various other MOC jobs. Annual shutdown of gas cracker plant in July 2010: calibration of pressure and level switches, trip and interlock checking, Calibration of Gas chromatrograph, Analyzer shelter maintenance and its interlock checking. Annual shutdown of EPRU plant in May 2011: Calibration of control valves, Analyzer calibration, Analyzer shelter maintenance, trip and interlock checking. RECENT TRAINING AT RIL Reliance Certified Analyzer Engineers: An industrial training RIL, VMD for 6 days .The training covered the maintenance and trouble shooting of various online analyzers like Gas chromatographs, Mass spectrometers, Oxygen analyzers, Moisture analyzers, Analyzers used in Custody transfer meter applications, sample handling systems, Analyzer Houses and Shelters, SWAS (Steam and water analysis systems) analyzers, Environmental emission norms, Refinery specific analyzers, Stack Analyzers, Communication Architectures , Rehabilitation of analyzers and Life cycle planning of various analyzers .
