PROJECT DATA Project: ASTM E 1886 & 1996 Series 4130 Single Hung Date(s) of Testing: April 4-5, 2005 Tested For: Peerless Products, Inc 2403 S. Main, P.O. Box 431 Ft. Scott, KS 66701 Witnessed By: (All or Partial Viewing) Coby Jones Peerless Products Inc. Jeffrey Crump Construction Consulting Laboratory, International (CCLI) Office: (620) 223-4610 2. SCOPE CCLI was requested to test and report the performance results on a Peerless Products Series 4130 Single Hung. Tests were performed in accordance with AAMA 506-2000 “Voluntary Specification for Hurricane Impact and Cycle Testing of Fenestration Products” using methods ASTM E 1996-99 and ASTM E 1996-03 “Standard Specification for Performance of Exterior Windows, Glazed Curtain Walls, Doors, and Storm Shutters Impacted by Windborne Debris in Hurricanes” and ASTM E1886-97 “Standard Test Method for Performance of Exterior Windows, Curtain Walls, Doors, and Storm Shutters Impacted by Missile(s) and Exposed to Cyclic Pressure Differentials”. Tests were performed at Construction Consulting Laboratory, International, (CCLI) in Carrollton, TX. 3. SUMMARY Three specimens of a Peerless Products Series 4130 Single Hung were large missile impacted with a Type C missile in accordance with ASTM E 1996-99 and Type D missile in accordance with ASTM E 1996-03. They were cycled at a Design 73.3 PSF positive and negative in accordance with ASTM E 1886-97. The laboratory temperature was maintained at 66º F for the duration of testing. Test specimens were stored in the lab prior to testing and the skin temperature of the aluminum was recorded at 68º F. Visual inspections performed on the test specimens revealed there were no penetrations through the laminate and no separation of vision-to-frame glazing at the conclusion of the large missile impact tests. Detailed extrusion and assembly drawings indicating measured wall thickness and corner construction are on file and have been compared to the test sample submitted. These records will be retained at CCLI for a period of four years. 7. CONCLUSION The test specimen, Peerless Products Series 4130 Single Hung, complied with AAMA 506-2000 and the large missile impact requirements of ASTM E 1996-99 using a Type-C large missile and ASTM E1996-03 using a Type-D large missile and cyclic pressure differentials of 73.3 PSF positive and negative noted in ASTM E 1886-97. The above results were achieved by using the designated test methods and indicate compliance with the above specification. This report does not constitute certification of this product.
