Referral Partner Agreement
1
This agreement sets out your responsibilities as a referral partner.
Part 1 – referral Partners and Save the Children
YOUR ROLE
GRANT APPLICATION
Save the Children works with referral partners
to process grant applications.1 We define a
referral partner as a professional who visits the
family home as part of their support role. You
must have an ongoing relationship with the family
and be in a position to fulfil all of your
responsibilities under this agreement to support a
family through the full cycle of the grant process.
You must comply with your organisation’s Child
Safeguarding and Data Protection policies.
Before you make a grant application, it is your
responsibility to make sure you have read and
understood this agreement, the Programme
Information and Application Guidance and any
other information we provide you with. We
may update any of these documents at any time
and it is your responsibility to ensure you have
read the most recent version, which will be held
on our Eat, Sleep, Learn, Play! website for
referral partners. The information you provide
during the telephone application must, to the
best of your knowledge, be accurate and
complete. All grant applications are subject to
meeting eligibility criteria. If these criteria are
not met the application will be unsuccessful.
Save the Children reserves the right to make or
refuse a grant at its sole discretion
Save the Children also requires support from
referral partners to gather evidence on the impact
of the programme. This can be through surveys,
collection of case stories, visits and research.
If you have any child safeguarding concerns
about the safety and welfare of children in relation
to the Eat, Sleep, Learn, Play! programme, then
please call our helpline 0808 802 0212 who will
raise your concern with our Safeguarding Focal
Point.
REFERRAL PARTNER
REGISTRATION
All the information you provide to Save the
Children must be true and accurate and all
sections must be fully completed. A valid work
email address must be provided for the
registration process.
You will also be required to provide your
line manager’s name, phone number and email
address, so we have an alternative contact in case
of absence. We will undertake verification checks
on all registrations.
Please note that we can only accept registrations
from referral partners who are linked to an
organisation that is currently registered and
approved with us.
1
FRAUD AND MISUSE
We define fraud as an act of deception,
intended for personal gain or to cause loss to
another party (even if there is no actual gain or
loss). Fraud or attempted fraud by referral
partners, their organisations or their clients will
be treated seriously, and all suspicions,
instances and allegations of fraud and misuse
will be investigated.
If you suspect an applicant has acted dishonestly
in relation to a grant application, including
selling items granted under the programme
(“Grant items”) or submitting false or
misleading information as part of their
application, you agree to immediately tell Save
the Children.
If you learn that a grant item has been sold, it is
your responsibility to discuss this with the
family, explaining that grant items are awarded
to help the young children in the applicant’s
home. By selling the items, the child’s needs
may not be met. It is your responsibility to
explain the impact this may have on the child.
You should also explain that Save the Children
will not make another grant to a family that has
sold a grant item.
The Eat, Sleep, Learn, Play! Programme is run by The Save
the Children Fund, a company limited by guarantee registered
in England and Wales (178159) and a charity registered in
England and Wales (213890) and Scotland (SC039570) whose
registered office is at 1 St John’s Lane, London, EC1M 4AR
(“Save the Children” or “we”).
