Hill-Hold Museum 211 NY-416, Campbell
Hall-Visit Hill-Hold museum and see what life was like on a
Hudson Valley farm in the 1830’s. This was still the era of
candlelight, fireplace heat, homegrown food and homespun
clothing. The stone farmhouse was built in 1769 with wide
plank floors, handsome paneling and huge fireplaces. It was
the home of prosperous farmer, Thomas Bull, and his family.
Original furnishings range from a prized old mahogany sideboard to made-on-thefarm pieces. Most of the rural family’s needs–food, clothing, fuel, came directly from

using a value study and its usefulness.
May 29- Shawn Dell Joyce, Montgomery pastelist and teacher demonstrates Plein
air basics; equipment, materials and survival skills.
June-Harness Racing Museum and Historic
Track in Goshen-The Historic Track is a half-mile harness
racing track in Goshen, New York. It was opened in 1838 and has
been in operation ever since, the oldest continuously operated
horse racing track in North America.

watercolor in a plein air setting.

July-Washington’s Headquarters 84 Liberty St, NewburghVisit the nation’s first publicly owned historic site and tour
the rooms where American history was made. In the critical
months that General George Washington spent at Newburgh,
he made some of his most important contributions to shaping
the American republic. PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE EARLIER

Historic Site 289 Forge Hill Rd, New
Windsor-On several occasions during the Revolutionary
War, Major General Henry Knox, Commander of the America
artillery, established his military headquarters at John
Ellison’s 1754 Georgian-style house in Vails Gate.
Aug. 7-Sal Russo, Warwick pastelist demonstrates quick
loose color application.
Aug. 14- Nancy Reed Jones, acrylic instructor and Walden artist demonstrated
using edges to create a strong focal point.
Aug. 21 – Vaune Sherin learn how to use values to capture trees in a landscape.
Aug. 28 – Mike Jaroszko, Montgomery realist oil painter demonstrates a Hudson
River School approach to the landscape.

exhibited for sale and auction as part of the Art/ History
Trail exhibit of plein air artwork Nov. 1-5 at Wallkill River
School, and live benefit auction Nov. 5, 5-7pm
