Welcome to the Ultimate Victory Dance Championships 2017
The hugely popular UVDC competitive dance event for performing arts welcomes you.
The annual championships take place on 3rd and 4th June 2017 at The Sinden Theatre, Kent.
All ages, styles of dance and group sizes are catered for with Solo, Duet/Trio and Small or Large Group
categories so there is plenty of opportunity for everyone. At Ultimate our main aim is to always ensure a lively
and energetic event with the sole focus being a high standard of commitment to ensuring the dancers enjoy their
experience and come back and compete year after year.
We understand that in this fast growing industry dance styles and techniques can vary between schools which is
why we offer a highly accredited and varied judging panel to ensure a fair outcome.
To register your school please complete the attached entry forms and return via email to
[email protected] by 1st March 2017.
Please find below all required elements to help you organise your entries and dancers. We are on hand to assist
you with anything you may require so please do not hesitate to get in touch should you require any further

About Ultimate Victory Dance Championships
UVDC Is one of the UK’s leading dance and performing arts competitive events where dance schools from all
over the country and internationally can compete for trophies, prizes and scholarships. Whether you are a
soloist, duo/trio or group the Ultimate Victory Dance Championships are for you, the question is… Will you be
victorious?
Entries
All entry forms must be received no later than 1st March 2017. All entry fees must be paid via online bank transfer
(BACS) any entries unpaid after 1st March 2017 will be removed from the system. No phone or text entries will be
accepted and entry forms must be FULLY completed to be accepted or entry forms will be returned. Your entries
will be confirmed via email and entries will only be considered complete once full payment has been made. You
will be invoiced accordingly. Spectator tickets are £7.00 for the each competitive day and are available to
purchase on the door. Dancers and studio owners do not require a ticket. Ultimate Victory Dance Championships
reserve the right to alter or cancel any or part of the event or move venues, this is at the sole discretion of UVDC.
SOLO ENTRIES - £12 PER SOLO
DUET/TRIO ENTRIES - £8 PER DANCER PER ROUTINE
GROUP ENTRIES - £5 PER DANCER PER ROUTINE
Age Divisions





Age 8 and under
Age 9-11
Age 12-14
Age 15-17
Age 18+
All group, duet and trio ages should be averaged to establish which age category to perform in.
Time Limits
Solos; Max 2:30 Minutes, Duets/Trios; Max 2:30 Minutes, Groups; Max 4 Minutes. Time limits should be strictly
adhered to in order to keep the event as smooth running as possible.
Music
All music must be labelled in the following way; Entry Number, Name of routine, Dance School. Discs should be
brought on day of event, a spare disc should be considered. A detailed order of your schools entries will be sent
out two weeks prior to the event to assist you with organising your discs.

Dance Styles
Ballet/Pointe (12years and over), Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Street/HipHop/Commercial, Song&Dance/Musical Theatre,
Acro and Contemporary.
Awards and Title Entries
Each competitive day ends with an awards ceremony where all prizes are awarded in order of the day’s
schedule. To enter your child to be considered for the Junior/Senior Ultimate Victory Star Dancer please
complete the “Title” section on the solo entry form per solo they wish to be judged for. This is £3 per routine. This
will be judged during their solo section. This is where our judging panel will be looking at what the dancer offers
in terms of likeability, attitude towards their performance, joy of dance, commitment to their piece. Star Dancers
do not need to win their section to be awarded this accolade.
Contestants will be judged by a highly qualified panel of judges.
Scoring as follows;
Total points available 300 per performance. Each judge can award a maximum of 100 points in the following
categories;
25 Points - Technique
25 Points - Content/Musicality and Suitability
25 Points - Performance and Entertainment
25 Points - Choreography/Costume
Additional Information
No dangerous props may be used on stage such as fire, swords and knives, or live animals.
General props are allowed. No forms of liquid should be used. All props must be placed within
time schedule. We do not hold any responsibility for loss or damage to props. Dance schools
should remain near the venue and will be called from their dressing room 4 numbers prior to
performance if dance schools are not ready they will be disqualified. Sportsmanlike behaviour is
expected at all times from dancers and spectators. Anyone failing to display proper decorum will
be disqualified immediately or asked to leave the venue. Due to child protection laws
photography and video recording are strictly prohibited. The official UVDC photographs can be
purchased on the event day. No cash refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
