During lessons (including tutor time and cover lessons)
Failure to respond to C2 behaviour in the lesson, no homework, rudeness to staff, swearing, homophobic language, racist
slur, sexism or any other offensive comments, persistent failure to follow staff instructions in the lesson, incorrect uniform,
incorrect/no PE kit, use of/or visible mobile phone and headphones, truancy from lesson, 3 lates in one week (issued by
tutor). If a student works their way from C1-3, C2 not to be logged. C3 supersedes C2.
TEACHER TO VISIT STUDENT IN DETENTION TO ENSURE RJ TAKES PLACE
Anti-social behaviour, failure to follow staff instructions, litter, play fighting,
swearing, bullying, homophobic language, racist slur, sexist remarks or any other
offensive comments, 3 referral slips (clean slate after the third), use of/or visible
mobile phone or headphones (staff to confiscate items).

DETENTION - Issue detention slip to student and log on to Class
Charts. Detention to be served 24 hours after issuing.
Persistent refusal of staff instructions in the lesson and failure to respond to C3, breach of health and safety, persistent
disruption to the learning environment. Subject cause for concern. If a student works their way from C1-4, detention (C3)
not to be issued. C4 supersedes C3.
Persistent poor behaviour at social times after numerous warnings. Health and
safety concerns, persistent refusal of staff instructions and failure to respond to
C3.
REMOVAL FROM CLASS* - to shadow timetable. Staff to ensure parents are contacted at the earliest
opportunity. Teacher and student to meet prior to the next lesson to ensure smooth transition into
class. Learning Contracts to be discussed with DOL if required, and meetings with parents to be
organised.
Persistent C4 behaviour, defiance, vandalism. Persistent truancy, walking away from members of staff, swearing at or
about any member of staff, refusal to hand over prohibited items, behaviour likely to incite disorderly conduct in school
including inappropriate expression of extremist views, failure to meet the agreed terms of the Learning Contract.

from the teacher. Detention to be served 24 hours after issuing.

Failure to respond to C5, theft, violent conduct whether provoked or not/persistent bullying/intimidation/inappropriate sexual behaviour (maybe C7, at the discretion of SLT), verbal abuse of staff, swearing
at or about another member of staff, intimidating behaviour towards staff, prejudice based bullying, bringing The Academy in to disrepute (smoking, fighting, antisocial behaviour in the community, on
public transport, travelling to and from school or at any time whilst wearing school uniform and poor behaviour in sporting fixtures, trips and visits) and incidences of extreme non-compliance.

Referral to SLT: FIXED TERM EXCLUSION/ FIXED PERIOD CURFEW DETENTION/ MANAGED MOVE APPLICATION

Persistent failure to comply with The Academy Behaviour for Learning Policy, putting a member of staff or student at risk, violent conduct (unprovoked, premeditated or arranged) towards staff or students,
possession or distribution of prohibited items or illegal substances, persistent bullying, serious assault, putting the health and safety of The Academy community at risk (inside or outside school),
possession of an offensive weapon, any behaviour that is in serious breach of The Academy’s Behaviour for Learning Policy and deemed serious enough by the Principal.
Referral to the Principal: FIXED TERM EXCLUSION/ PERMANENT EXCLUSION
