Receipts from fields up The amount of crude oil and equivalent products that oil pipelines received from Canadian fields and plants was 21.9 million cubic metres in November. Of this volume, 97% (or more than 19 out of every 20 barrels) came from Alberta and Saskatchewan. An additional 2.0 million cubic metres was imported from the United States. Exports up Oil pipelines exported 14.5 million cubic metres of crude oil and equivalent products to the United States in November. Meanwhile, 7.1 million cubic metres was sent to Canadian refineries, with Ontario and Quebec refineries receiving 39% of these deliveries. In November, closing inventories of crude oil and equivalent products totalled 12.3 million cubic metres. The Daily, Friday, January 20, 2017 Note to readers Data in this release are not seasonally adjusted. Changes were made to the content and methodology of the Monthly Oil and Other Liquid Petroleum Products Pipeline Survey in March 2016. For more information, consult the methodology document Monthly Oil and Other Liquid Petroleum Products Pipeline Survey. These changes resulted in the creation of tables 133-0001, 133-0002, 133-0003, 133-0004 and 133-0005. CANSIM table 133-0006, which replaced CANSIM While these tables will remain available for reference, users should exercise caution when comparing data from these tables with data from the new table. Definitions Crude oil and equivalent products include the following liquid hydrocarbons: crude oil, condensate, pentanes plus, and synthetic crude oil. Inventories include inventories held in pipelines, tanks and terminals, but exclude inventories held in field batteries and inventories held in the United States. Receipts from fields and plants include receipts from batteries and terminals associated with field separators and field upgraders, and receipts from gas processing plants and extraction plants. Receipts from fractionation plants are excluded. Imports include receipts of foreign-produced oil, condensate, natural gas liquids and petroleum products destined for use in Canada. Exports include deliveries of Canadian-produced oil, condensate, natural gas liquids and petroleum products destined for use outside of Canada. Deliveries to refineries include deliveries to upgrader/refinery complexes. Available in CANSIM: table 133-0006. Definitions, data sources and methods: survey number 2148.
