supérieur A card game for 4 – 14 players ages 10 years old and up. components 52 playing cards (13 each in diamonds, hearts, spades, and clubs). Rank of Cards from low to high: 2-10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace. For cards of the same rank the order by suit is: Diamonds, Hearts, Spades, Clubs. Example: The 10 of Hearts is lower than the 10 of Spades, which in turn is lower than the Jack of Diamonds. You will need poker chips or similar markers all of denomination 1 for betting. set up Shuffle the 52 playing cards and create a face down draw deck in the middle of the playing area. Agree on the number of chips per player before starting the game. We recommend 15 chips per player. The bravest player is designated as start player. 1 sequence of play Each hand of play consists of the following 8 steps: Step 1: Ante Each player must ante 1 chip. This is a required bet to start the hand of play. Players should place this chip in front of themselves close to the center of the playing area so that each player’s total current bet can be individually tracked. Step 2: Draw a starting card Beginning with the start player and proceeding clockwise, each player draws 1 card from either the top or the bottom card of the draw deck into their hand. Make sure to keep your card secret from your opponents! Step 3: First Betting Round The first betting round begins with the start player and proceeds clockwise around the table. Each player will have one turn to act and must choose one of the following 2 options: 1. Check: If no one has raised the current bet, you can check to continue without raising the current bet. Play now passes to the next player on your left. 2. Raise: You may choose to raise the current bet by adding as many chips as you like to your existing bet. Immediately now, going clockwise from your left, each remaining player must decide whether to call your raise or fold. •C all: To call a bet you must add enough chips to your existing bet to match the current bet, or you must fold. S pecial Case: If you do not have enough chips to make a full call, you can still call by putting all of your remaining chips into your existing bet (including zero). You will now be skipped in the following steps but will still participate in the showdown for this hand of play. 2 • Fold: If you do not want to call a raise then you must fold. Your bet remains in the middle and you are eliminated from the showdown. Play now passes to the player on your left. Step 4: Exchange the Card in Hand The remaining players (who have not folded) may now, in clockwise order beginning with the start player, either discard their card face up into a discard pile and draw 1 new card from either the top or bottom of the draw deck; or, keep their current card unrevealed. Step 5: Second Betting Round This step is identical to Step 3. Step 6. Exchange the Card in Hand This step is identical to Step 4. Step 7: Third Betting Round This step is identical to Step 3. Step 8: The Showdown The remaining players must now simultaneously reveal their card in hand. The player with the highest card wins the hand of play and takes all the chips that were bet. Schritt 9: Preparation for the next Hand of Play Shuffle the 52 playing cards and create a face down draw deck in the middle of the playing area. The player to the left of the previous start player will be the new start player. Start the hand of play at Step 1. 3 Supérieur If a player draws the ace of spades at any time, he must immediately fold this hand of play. His bet remains in the middle of the table and the ace of spades is immediately reshuffled into the draw deck. Elimination If a player no longer has any chips after a showdown they are eliminated from the game. Game End and Winner The game ends once only one player remains. They have won all the chips and victory!
