3rd quarter. Newark then had a huge 4th quarter as they scored 27 big points while holding
Kaneland to 18 to take a 66-62 win in one of the tournaments many great games. Senior

both ends of the court. Evan Schomer had a big game as well with 17 and Will Clausel had
11 points and 11 assists. Dylan Vaca had a game high 23 for Kaneland and Ryan David

led 21-13 after the 1st quarter and extend the lead to 31-21 at the break. After the end of the
3rd quarter LP led 45-33. There was certainly no quit in the Norsemen as they outscored LP
in the 4th quarter 23-17, but it was not quite enough as LP got the win 62-56. The Clausel
boys led the way in scoring on this night with 15 for Jack and 14 for Will.
The Norsemen in the 3rd place game played Central from Burlington who had only lost once
all year as they were beaten in the semi-finals by the defending Classic champ Dixon 57-55. Newark trailed 13-6 after one and 33-23 at the half. Newark would put on a show in the 2nd
half outscoring the Central Rockets 43-25 on the way to a 66-58 Newark victory and the 3rd
place finish. Jack Clausel had 16 points to lead the way with both Schomer and Cam Myre
each getting 15. Will Clausel added 14 point and 7 assists to a very balanced Newark
attack. Jim Teckenbrock
