LHHS HAWK HAPPENINGS One Town, One Team! Go Hawks! Friday, June 2, 2017 HAWK NEWSFLASH! PTSA Grad Night Is On Campus! Volunteers Needed! PTSA Grad Night has moved on campus and needs your help. They will be in the Aux Gym every day from 11:00am-8:00pm. It takes a whole school of parents, friends, and alumni to put on this amazing event. The end of the school year is busy for everyone, but if you can lend a hand for few hours it would really help. Without everyone’s assistance, our tradition of PTSA Grad Night on campus for the future years is in jeopardy. You don’t have to be creative. You don’t have to stay for a long time, but every little bit helps. Any questions email Nancy Alvarez, at [email protected]. Thank you, PTSA Grad Night Team. ADMINISTRATION ANNOUNCEMENTS New Finals! Senior students will be taking their finals on Friday, June 9th and Monday, June 12th. All students will be on a Block Bell Schedule for those two days. Click Here to view the Final Exam Bell Schedule. Tuesday, June 13th is period 1 finals for all students with a first period. Students who begin with 2nd period will begin school at 9:00am. Wednesday, June 14th, Thursday, June 15th, and Friday, June 16th will be a minimum day testing schedule for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. Final Exam Schedule New Information Regarding Early Dismissal During Finals We highly discourage any type of early dismissal during exam periods. Also, please be aware that if a parent/guardian arrives to pick up his/her student, we will not interrupt classes during testing time to release the students early. It is a direct violation of our cell phone policy for students to use their cell phones to contact parents for an early pick up if they may have finished a final early. Please schedule appointments and travel plans around the student’s finals schedule (see the schedule above). If there is no alternative and an early dismissal is required, it must be obtained through the attendance office prior to the start of school that day and the student must show it to his/her teacher PRIOR to the final. If a student needs to see the Health Aide the teacher will send along a pass with name, date, period and teacher’s signature. If a student is not ill or does not have a temperature, the student will be sent back to class. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we wind up the year. New Health Office Notice Parents, please make arrangements to pick up your students’ medications from the Health Office prior to the end of school. Medications remaining after the last day of school will be discarded. For the next school year, you and your doctor must complete a new medication form. For doctor visits before the new school year, medication forms can be found online on the SVUSD Health Services Webpage under HEALTH FORMS. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Mrs. Oltman, Health Aide, at [email protected] or call the school and ask for the health office (ext 4163). New Lose Anything? When going through this process, be sure you have it delivered to your specific college, not to the Common App. After choosing your college in Parchment, you will need to select the "next grading period transcript" so your second semester grades will be included. Your final transcript won't actually be transferred electronically to your college until after June 16, when your second semester grades are added. If your college is specifically requesting a paper transcript, choose to send the transcript to "myself" and select "via mail."
