A 501(c)(3), Non Profit, Public Charity that is Community Supported and Funded For many people in Northern Nevada, the economic times have become difficult, and have left many without sufficient resources to meet their food needs. This is not a sit down meal, but an opportunity to help you provide for your family with bread, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, dairy, protein (meat, cheese or eggs) and other food items. For most of the participants that come and participate, it is a major change from most food pantries where they are given canned food and dry goods and asked a lot of very personal questions to qualify. Another unique aspect of Hands of Hope Food Bank is that funding for the program comes from all that participate with a Shared Maintenance Fee (SMF) of $10 per family. The $10 helps cover the operational costs. This program is definitely NOT another entitlement program supported by tax dollars. For those struggling with the SMF: we need volunteers and when you volunteer, you qualify for a reduced SMF fee. Unit 19 is in the back left hand corner of the building 295 Gentry Way Suite 19 & 20, Reno NV 89502 Projects of Empowering Parents, Inc.
