Deep old oak and tobacco aromas. Red – Italy Chianti Classico Riecine £74 There is no doubt this wine is excellent. Cigar smokey notes, violets and juicy Morello cherries. Full of richness and very savoury. It even has a hint of the wild side with mushroomy, animal fur characteristics. Barbera d’Alba ‘Peiragal’ Marchesi di Barolo This is 100% Barbera; aged in small French barrels, which are moderately toasted to give soft boisé notes of hazelnut and vanilla. Barbaresco, Produttori del Barbaresco This deep fruity wine has dark fruits, which are wonderfully balanced, intense and elegant with dark bitter chocolate notes and black cherries. Long lasting and silky. £70 £86.20 Red – America Big Top Zinfandel £26 This wine is from old Zinfandel vines, it has a lovely spicyness, dark, damson fruits, slightly smoky without oak though, A deep red but not overly sweet like some Zinfandels Cabaret Frank – Cabernet Franc £28 Packed full of dark fruits, blackberries, dark cherries and plums. Very smooth and easy to drink Red – Spain Ribero del Duero, El Quintanal £29 Red purple colour with some delicate herbal and cherry aromas. In the mouth really well integrated with a touch of French Oak Soli Terra Priorat £31 Dark fruits with a nod towards Cassis. Ripe blackberries, jammy but not overly, hints of warm spices and a sexy coating of dark chocolate. Red – Rhone Crozes Hermitage, Etienne Barret Aromas of balsamic with outstanding notes of vanilla, chocolate, leather, and soft toasted well integrated with ripe fruits and a mineral touch £35 Châteauneuf du Pape, Domaine de la Graveirette “Les Mémentes” 2012 Dense, dark cherry and raspberry on the nose with a waft of scrubland air. Sip it don’t slurp Red – Burgundy Bourgogne Pinot Noir A beautiful Pinot, smooth and velvety, cherries and blackcurrants with a smidge of vanilla, lightly smoky and quite autumnal. £45 Morgon Château de Pizay This top class wine has a nose dominated by blackberries and cherries and a silky smooth palate with fine tannins combining. Classic Morgon, showing the fruit of Beaujolais and the charm of Burgundy. £29 Domaine Jean Guiton Beaune Premier Cru £72 This is a classic example of a brilliant pinot noir. It is juicy and fruity, wild strawberries and succulent cherries a slight take on bubblegum, smoky with vanilla and a hint of sharp raspberry to finish this off perfectly. Red – Languedoc/Roussillion Saint Chinian Vielles Vignes, Domaine Belles Courbes 2012 Notes of flint, bay and dried fruit on the nose. A structured palate, round and full with light black pepper and blackberry. £27 Domaine Les Yeuses 'Les Epices' Syrah, PGI Pays d'Oc It has wonderfully spicy, perfumed Syrah fruit and an elegant softness and roundness which mark it out as a wine of quality. £27 Les Violets Pinot Noir A happy, juicy wine, typical flavours of Morello cherries and mulberry red fruits, quite deep with luscious oak but smooth flavours. £29 Red – Bordeaux Chateau Dauzuc £102 This is a real take on the Cabernet Merlot blend, made in its own micro climate, surrounded woods and bee hives. It is grown on a very porous, deep gravel bed. This produces a royal glass of smoky blackberry and deep dark fruits. Peppery, yet still juicy on the palate.
