FILTER SYSTEM CASE STUDY CLEANABLE HIGH FLOW FILTERS FOR ON-SHORE GAS PLANT CLIENT BUILDING LOCATION SECTOR On-shore gas plant facility North Africa Oil and Gas ABOUT THE PROJECT PROJECT CHALLENGES A major on-shore gas plant in North Africa has a major filtration system for the filtration of the produced water prior to injecting down the well. In an effort to reduce operational costs, Amazon Filters developed an alternative all 316L stainless steel construction cartridge in the large bore high flow format already being used. The operator has been using polypropylene filters and experiencing excellent retention of contaminants, but the nature of the oil in the water led to frequent and premature plugging of the cartridges. This design enables the filters to undergo a vigorous cleaning process. The new filters were tested on-site and the results exceeded the operator’s expectations. The rugged yet sophisticated design ensured the filter was able to handle the process and handling rigours of an oilfield environment, while still offering precise and repeatable filtration performance. The new system also reduced the levels of waste that needed disposing by the site. The challenging application was typical of those that Amazon Filters excels at. Both the composition of the feed water and the protection requirements to prevent well fouling had evolved over the life time of the field, demanding a responsive partner able to offer expert advice, and bespoke filtration media to address the changing requirements. Amazon Filters Ltd is able to offer a range of standard and bespoke metal filters in 316L stainless steel and in a range of alloy media. We are also able to offer advice on both in-situ filtration system cleaning (CIP) and options for deeper cleans outside of the process housing. Where necessary we can also advise on access to contract cleaning and inspection / repair services.
