Stress, frustration, anxiety are common amongst health practitioners and patients alike. This can create poor practitioner-patient interactions and relationships which reduces the impact of an effective consultation. Attitudes, beliefs and emotions can be managed but we often require a change of thinking to achieve this. To assist in behavioural change for both health practitioners and patients, HINT draws on the collective 42 years of experience of Dr Tom Mulholland and Barbara Docherty through their Healthy Thinking/TADs/BOI training approach. This approach offers you conversational tools you can use with your patients, your family and colleagues. The 2 day interactive workshop will give you: An introduction to TADS/BOI training – how to change your language to transform your consultations Identification of patient drivers and barriers in behavioural contexts Common triggers and beliefs around stress, anxiety and performance How to identify and manage your own thoughts, beliefs, emotions, attitudes and behaviours Tools to improve attitudes, behaviours in the practitioner-patient relationship HINT certificate of attendance When: Tuesday 6 Sept and Wednesday 7 Sept 2016. 9.00am – 4.00pm Where: Sport Waitakere Waitemata Rugby Club 96 Swanson Road Henderson Cost: $100 pp plus GST (subsidised funding from the Ministry of Health for health professionals) To register: contact Meleane Bourke: [email protected] Dr Tom Mulholland graduated from University of Otago as a Doctor in 1989 after achieving a 1st class honours degree in Molecular Genetics.
