NIKE Pre-Draft Basketball Camp coming to Ames, IA
In 2012, Nike is holding a series of Pre-Draft Camps
throughout the United States for basketball players.
We are excited to announce that Ames, IA is one of
those locations!
Nike Pre-Draft Camp (PDC) presented by Nike Elite
Youth Basketball is an opportunity for kids to
experience workouts and skills training that before
now, were only eligible to athletes at the higher
levels of basketball. Participants are taken through
multiple stations to work on things like ball-handling,
shooting, and basketball scenarios aimed at
increasing their basketball IQ. PDC is modeled after a variety of Nike Skills Academies
hosted by LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Paul Pierce, Deron Williams, and
Amar'e Stoudemire.
The camp is designed for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade basketball players, and according to
Carlton DeBose, Nike's Basketball’s Elite Youth Field Rep, "by putting kids in the PreDraft system, say in the 6th grade, we can work with them that year and also in the 7th
and 8th grade too and that gives us three years to work with them at the earliest stages
of their development."
The Iowa camps are designed for 5th - 9th grade boys, and 5th - 12th grade girls.
