PositionSummary:
TheExecutiveDirectorisastrategicandvisionaryleaderwhoprovidesleadershipinformulating
and implementing Hacienda’s mission, vision, values, strategies and programs. Key areas of
responsibility are: strategic planning, resource development, partnership development and
fundraising; managing and evaluating programs; shaping an inclusive, diverse, healthy and
equitable organizational culture; developing and maintaining positive external relationships,
including relationships with key policymakers and community leaders; managing finances;
managingHR;supportingtheBoardofDirectors;andhandlingadministration,legalandcontract
compliance.
EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities:
Planning,ResourceDevelopment,andPartnershipDevelopment
1. LeadthenextstageofHacienda’sdevelopmentasaninnovativeandresponsiveCDC
providingcommunity-centeredhousing,economicdevelopment,andsupportiveservices
tolow-incomeLatinoandotherlow-incomefamilies.
InpartnershipwiththeBoardandstaff:
a.ShapeHacienda’sstrategicdirectionbasedonitsmission,vision,valuesandbusiness
opportunities.
b.Planforresourcedevelopmenttobuildontheorganization’sstrengthsandcontinue
todiversifyrevenuesources.Activelyidentifyandpursueresourcesandpartnersto
advanceHacienda’smissionandservices.
c.ManagerelationshipswithkeyCity,County,state,andfederalfunders.
d.Overseetheprocessofidentifyingandapplyingforappropriategrantsandfinancing
fromlocal,state,andfederalgovernmentinstitutions,aswellasprivatefoundations,
corporations,andlendinginstitutions.
Fundraising
2.Provideleadershipinestablishingandimplementinganongoingindividualdonorprogram
forHacienda,workinginpartnershipwiththeBoardofDirectorsandstaff.

3.EnsureevaluationofHacienda’sprogramsandservices,includingregularfeedbackloops
forcontinuallearningandadaptation.
4. Updateprogramsandservicesincollaborationwithmanagersandprogramstaff.Ensure
appropriateday-to-daymanagementinpartnershipwithHacienda’smanagementteam.
5. Developnewprogramstoservechangingcommunityneedsincollaborationwithlocal,
stateandfederalagencypartners.
Communications,CommunityRelationsandAdvocacy
6. ProvideleadershiptoelevateHacienda’sbrandandexpandmarketing,includingcurrent
andnewmediaactivities(e.g.,website,socialmedia,andearnedmedia).
7. Activelyparticipateinrelevantprofessional,community,andcivicorganizations,
coalitionsandprojectsasanofficialrepresentativeofHaciendaanditsmission.
8. Maintainpositiverelationswithpartnersandfunders;promoteHaciendawithpolitical
andcommunityleaders.
9. IdentifypolicydevelopmentsthatcouldinfluenceHacienda’sfuture;shapeand
implementHacienda’sadvocacystrategies.

10. Fosteranddemonstrateleadershipforahealthyorganizationalculturebasedonopen
communication,collaboration,inclusivenessandaccountability.
11. AlignandsupporttheinternalteambyarticulatingtheconnectionsbetweenHacienda’s

12. Serveasachampionfordiversity,equity,andempowerment—internallyandwithinall
programsareas.
PropertyandAssetManagement
13. Provideoversighttoensurethephysicalandfinancialwell-beingofHacienda’shousing
portfolio;assistwithlong-termportfolioplanningofhousingprojects,including
transitions,dispositions,andrefinancing.
14. EnsurethatHaciendaiscreatingandmaintainingsafe,secure,well-runpropertiesand
workingwithcommunitypartnerstoinstillasenseofrespectandcommunityprideatall
properties.
15.Initiateandcultivaterelationshipswithequityinvestorsandpublicfunders.
HRandStaffManagement
16. Workwiththemanagementteamtoattract,hire,retain,anddevelopHacienda’sstaff
toachievetheirhighestpotential.
17. Ensureregularperformancereviewsandprofessionaldevelopmentopportunitiesfor
staff.
18. EnsurecompliancewithHacienda’spersonnelpolicies,andappropriateadministration
ofpayroll,employeebenefits,andemployeerecords.

BoardSupportandDevelopment
19. AssisttheBoardinrecruitment,orientation,training,evaluation,andleadership
successionactivities,ensuringappropriateculturalandeconomicdiversity.
20. SupporttheBoardinfulfillingitsgovernancedutieswhilealsostayingintouchwiththe
missionandheartofHacienda;ensureadequatestaffsupporttoBoardcommittees.
21. WorkinpartnershipwithBoardleadershiptofostermeaningfulengagementbyall
boardmembersbasedontheirskills,knowledge,andcommunityconnections.
FinancialManagement
22. EnsureanappropriateaccountingsystemandadherencetoHacienda’sfinancialpolicies
andprocedures.
23. RecommendanannualbudgetforFinanceCommitteereviewandBoardapproval;
monitorandprudentlymanageresourceswithintheapprovedbudget.
24. EnsuretheBoard’sregularreviewoffinancialstatementsincludinganindependent
annualaudit.
Administration,LegalandContractCompliance
25.Provideappropriateadministrativesystemsandensureorganizationalcompliancewith
applicablelaws,rules,andgovernmentalregulations,aswellasprinciplesofsound
organizationalmanagement.
WorkEnvironment:
TheExecutiveDirectorworksinatraditionalofficesettingatadeskwithacomputerandphone,
plussignificanttimeoutinthecommunity,e.g.,networkingandmeetingwithpartners,funders,
andcommunityleaders.Thepositionprimarilyworksweekdayofficehours,withsomeevening
andweekendworkrequired.
PhysicalDemands:
Mustbeabletofrequentlytraveltomeetingsandeventsthroughoutthestate,includingsome
out-of-statetravel.
