Functions:
The type of function is selected from the Home screen.
Copy
Image Send
Document Filing
Copy - Black and White (Black and White are 1 cent per page)
Touch Copy Key on the screen
Place the original on the glass.
Use the document feeder to make 2 sided copies:
Place the original face up – head first in the document feeder.
Press the Original key to select output destination and original size Press OK
Touch the 2-sided copy key
Select copy mode (e.g.: 2 sided copy of 1 or 2 sided original)
Select settings (e.g.: 2-sided)

Enter number of copies
Press the Black & White start key
Note: The Color start key is located next to the Black and White key. (Not shown in picture
above).
Copy – Color (Color pages are 6.5 cents per page)
Touch Copy Key on the screen
Press the Color key
A window will display on the screen for access
Press the Logout button
Enter the code for your department (see your supervisor for the code)
Press Ok
Press the Color start key
Printer (Color pages are 6.5 cents per page)
To print color documents, you will need an access code from your supervisor.
Note: The following steps are only required to be completed once:
Click File – Print.
Under the Printer option click the link for Printer Properties.
Click on the Job Handling tab
Check the box next to user number and enter the code.
To print in color:
Click the Printer Properties link.
Click on the Color tab
Select Color or Automatic, the default is set to Black and White.
Image Send - Facsimile
Touch Image Send on the screen
Select the Fax option
Place the document on the glass or in the feeder tray

Enter the destination fax number (for an outside line first enter 9 and press the pause button on
the screen).
Press the Black & White Start key
Once Scanned, press the Read End key
Both sides of 2 sided originals can be scanned at once.
The Line light will illuminate during transmission of fax
DATA light will blink if there is a fax received that cannot print due to an issue (out of paper).
Scan to E-mail:
Touch Image Send on the screen
Place original on glass or face up – head first in the feeder tray
Select:
Address BookSelect Global Address Search to search for UI&U employee email addresses
Enter the last name and press search
Select the desired email address (selection will be highlighted)
Press the To: button
Press the Condition Settings button to change exposure, resolution, color, etc.
Press the Original button to select 2 sided
Press the Black and White or Color Start Key
When finished scanning press Read End
To Save an Email Address or Fax Number:
Press the System Settings button (to the right of the screen)
Touch the Address Control on the screen
Select Address Book
Add new
For Address Type: Email will be displayed. Use the drop down arrow to select fax
In the Address name field enter the first and last name for the person – press Ok
Check the box to register this address to be added to the [frequent use] index

In the Email Address field enter the email – press Ok
Click Ok
A registration complete window will open – press Ok
Scan to Network:
Touch Image Send on the screen
Select Address Book
Select Folder
Select Department/Network (confirm location at the top of the screen)
Press the Black and White or Color Start Key
Press the Original button to Change Condition Settings – i.e.: 2 sided, select original and
then 2 sided. Other condition settings include, file format, dpi scan setting, exposure, etc.
Loading Paper
Trays 1 to 2 -Load the paper with the print side face up. However, if the paper type is "PrePunched", "Letter Head" or "Pre-Printed", load the paper with the print side face down.
Bypass Tray - The Bypass Tray should be used for any special type of paper (envelopes,
cardstock, labels, name tags etc.) Use the Paper Select button to select the paper type. Note:
The paper type last selected will remain selected even if all settings have been cleared. This
setting will have to be manually changed for a new job type.
If the paper type is "Pre-Punched", "Letter Head" or "Pre-Printed"; load the paper with the print
side face up.
General
Job Status Key- Displays the job status and allows for cancelation of jobs. You can also check
the amount of toner available.
If the machine indicates the waste container is full, please contact the help desk for a
replacement.
