Beavers
- 13th to 14th May
It’s going to be a great weekend
with Cubs and Scouts spending two
night in tents whilst the Beavers will
be there for one night, sleeping
indoors in the Holiday Centre.
There will be a full programme of
exciting activities including zip-wire,
climbing, pedal karting, canoeing,
obstacle course and much, much

up tents. It’s easy and we’ll show
you how.
Group
Romsley Scout Centre was filled to capacity for this year’s
Family Quiz Night.
We were entertained by a
challenging quiz ran by Richard
& Yvonne Walford and Lyn &
Barrie Davies. Whilst the
children and young people were
kept busy in the Children’s Room
by Jenny Moore and Sue
Hemmings.
Rod & Lisa Cartwright were
also busy all night running our
bar and popular Prosecco Bar.
Our meal was provided by Our
Plaice of Hagley.
Thank you to everyone who
supported the evening and to all
our ticket-sellers including superseller Louise Hunt.
We hope that everyone
enjoyed the evening which
raised a magnificent £703 for
our funds.

Thank you to GirlGuiding
for the Generous Gift
The Beavers have been busy
becoming Scientists, trying a
variety of tests for the Experiment
Badge. They’ve also been
learning to prepare different
foods for the Cooks Badge.
We were thrilled to receive a
wonderful gift from Romsley
Rainbows, Brownies and Guides to
commemorate our 50th Anniversary.
The Colony have also been
making cards and presents for
Mother’s Day and Easter.
District Commissioner Debbie Carter
presented the Group with a framed
limited edition print by Beatrix Potter.
The author drew the picture in 1928 for a
Guide Company that was camping on
her farm in the Lake District and it has
been reproduced by GirlGuiding .
The painting will
be proudly
displayed at the
Scout Centre.
The Cubs have been working on
the Personal Challenge, choosing
to do something they find difficult.
They’ve also been doing the
Our World Challenge, learning
about Greece, Hannahkah,
doing Good Turns and helping
the community.
And the Pack have enjoyed
a Torchlight Hike over Clent Hill.
The Scouts were entertained
with a visit to the Village
Pantomime. They also held a
Jamming Night, bringing
instruments to earn the
Musicians Badge. The Troop
have also been doing the First
Aid Badge and Skills Badge.
Our Scouts took part in the District
Rifle Shooting Competition at Kinver
Camp Site recently.
Meanwhile the Cubs came 3rd in the
District 6-a-side Football Competition at
Leasowes Sports Centre.
8 Cubs take their Promise
Romsley First
As youngsters spend two years in
Beavers, it's rare to have 3 siblings
at the same time. So when 2 lovely
twins joined their big brother at
Beavers, we had a first at Romsley.
