Stay on Your MS Medicine
If you are prescribed an injectable medication, it is important to receive injection
training. However, injection-site reactions with injectable MS medicines are
common. But following a few established tips can help reduce these reactions.
These tips have been recommended by some healthcare professionals.

se a different site each time you inject your medicine and rotate your injection sites

ost companies that make MS medicines offer injection-site reminder stickers and
treatment journals to help you keep track of injection sites. If you don’t have these tools,
be sure to request them from your treatment support services
Let your skin dry
After you have cleaned the injection site with alcohol, let your skin dry before you inject
your medicine to avoid stinging.
Bring your medicine to room temperature
If you refrigerate your medicine, remove it from the refrigerator and allow it to come
to room temperature prior to injecting to possibly reduce irritation.

Injectable MS medicines may cause redness, pain, or swelling at the injection site.
Applying a cold compress or ice pack to the injection site after injection may help reduce
local skin reactions
