ELISAVAandtheaerospacecompanyZero2Infinityjoinforcestogiveshapetoone
ofthemostambitiousaspirationsoffuturemobility.
Barcelona,November15th.-“Thelastchallengeofinteriordesignofmobility”was
presentedinBarberàdelVallès.Itisafutureprojectthatconsistsondesigningthe
insideoftheBLOONcapsule,whichwilldocommercialandleisuretripstothespace’s
frontier.During9months,7studentsofELISAVA,BarcelonaSchoolofDesignand
Engineering,incollaborationwiththeCatalancompanyofspacelogisticsZero2
Infinity,willbeinchargeofgivingshapetothischallengefromtheknowledgebutalso
fromemotion.
Withthischallenge,ELISAVAstrengthenssomeofitsfundamentallines,likeresearch
andtheconnectionwiththesocial,localandinternationalcontext.TheSchoolbelieves
inthiskindofprojects,whichyesterdaytheywerepartofthedreamsandtodaythey
areinprocessofmaterializinginpurereality.
Theproject
Theproject’spresentation,inwhichJoséMarianoLópez-Urdiales(CEOandfounderof
Zero2Infinity),DavidLozanoJiménez(Inchargeofthedesignandmechanizationof
BLOON),MarcRovira(BusinessDeveloper&AerospaceEngineerofZero2Infinity),
AlbertFusterMartí(AcademicDirectorELISAVA)andMarcValls(BussinesRelations
ELISAVA)haveparticipated,hasservedtogivethebasesofwhatwillbeanexperience
withoutcomparisonaroundtheflight.“BLOON’smissionistoefficientlyfacilitatethe
accesstospace,whereskyisblackduringthedayandatnight,andatalowercost”
saidJoséMarianoLópez-Urdialesatthebeginningofthepresentation.
Fewarethecompaniesthatarecurrentlyworkingontheambitofaerospacetourism,
sothisalliancewithZero2InfinityputsELISAVAattheforefront,offeringtechnological
excellenceandateamthatwillbeformedbysevenstudents.
Andwhatdoesthisprojectconsiston?OndefiningtheinsidedispositionoftheBLOON
transportcapsulewiththeaimofdesigningafeasibleandergonomiclivingspacethat
wouldtakesispersons(twopilotsandfourpassengers)intospaceduringsixhours.
Thismeansthatthedesignofallthevisiblefurniturelikeseats,compartments,
screens,toilet,etc.willbetakenintoconsideration.Theilluminationwillbealso
important,aswellasalleverythingrelatedtothepassenger’sexperienceinsidethe
toroidalvehicle(ringshape).Inconclusion,theprojectwillconsistondesigningthe
insideofthecapsulethatwillserveasameanoftransportforthesepassengerstothe
stratosphere(to40kmawayfromtheEarth’ssurface),auniqueexperienceanduntil
nowonlyavailableforastronauts.
WhatisBLOON?
ThecapsuleBLOONisthefirstvehicleofZero2Infinity,whichwillgivethetraveler
breathtakingviewsbeyondtheblueskyweseeonearth,twotimeshigherofwhat
commercialplanesreach.Theexperiencewillbringclosertheusertospace’s
immensity,usingasecureheliumballoonandanaerospacetransportationcasewith
panoramicwindows.
