Boards in Action: Next Generation Fall Class of 2013 Broward County's Premier Nonprofit Leadership Education The Community Foundation’s Boards in Action: Next Generation is designed to quickly and effectively teach teams of board members the skills required to take an organization to the next level. This rapid-fire, but detailed immerses board member teams in the techniques of highly effective boards and provides participants the opportunity to work within their teams to identify actionable items that will help their boards become stronger advocates, fundraisers, and champions of their organizations. Upon completion of the program and submission of a Board Action Plan participating organizations receive free consulting hours from a top local consultant of their choice to advance their board work. Chuck Loring, MBA, CFRE, senior partner of Fort Lauderdale and Indianapolis – based firm of Loring, Sternberg & Associates and Senior Governance Associate for BoardSource, will work with a cadre of boards to gain a full overview of the requirements of today’s highly effective board. Chuck will help you to: Create or refine your board recruitment plan – discover how to get great board members. Reshape your board structure for fast, effective and powerful decision making – create committees that work Help your board be great ambassadors – The key to opening more doors Energize your board and create a team dedicated and committed to success Clarify your mission and what makes you great? Training calendar and details: Friday, September 20, 2013 11:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Board Retreat Day I; lunch included) Saturday, September 21, 2013 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Board Retreat Day II; breakfast & lunch included) (Note: the full program has been condensed into two days) Fee: $250 for up to 6 attendees (CEO & Board Chair required) How is the full program different than the one-day program? The full program is designed to be attended as a team and involves group learning throughout the course. The one-day session is meant to be a refresher course or make up session for those who were not able to attend with the full team.
