Contite ® Membrane TA - Cormix International Limited.

Contite ® Membrane T.A.
HIGH PERFORMANCE TORCH APPLIED SHEET MEMBRANE
DESCRIPTION
Contite Membrane T.A. is a bitumen plastomeric
waterproofing membrane manufactured from
bitumen and selected polymers blended together to
obtain excellent heat, UV resistance and
waterproofing properties. The polymerized bitumen
is coated on to a dimensionally stable reinforcement
core of non-woven spun bond polyester rot-proof
fabric. The membrane has excellent tensile & tear
strength and has high fatigue and puncture
resistance.
USES & ADVANTAGES
Contite Membrane T.A. is used as a waterproofing/damp proofing membrane for protection of
various substrates in a range of applications which
include the following:• Bridges & tunnels.
• Airport aprons & ramp area.
• Pile heads.
• Basements.
• Concrete foundations & footings.
• Sunken slabs.
• Terraces, balconies & patios.
• Roofs.
Contite Membrane T.A. has the following advantages: • High resistance to positive water & vapor pressure.
• High tensile and tear strength.
• High puncture and fatigue resistance.
• Excellent flexibility.
• Accommodates structural movement.
• Good dimensional stability under tension.
• Resists water borne chemicals.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
The surface shall be free of mould oils and curing
membranes & be made clean and dry. All surface
imperfections and protrusions are to be removed and
repaired. Structurally unsound and friable concrete
must be removed and repaired with a suitable repair
mortar such as Conpatch 600MCI.
PRIMING
Apply Cormix Primer to the clean smooth and dry
surface by brush, roller or spray. Allow the primer to
dry.

Use gas burner to heat substrate and undersides of
Contite Membrane T.A.. Embossing on the lower face
of the membrane allows a fast and safe laying. When
embossing disappears after torching the membrane is
ready to stick. Roll forward and press firmly against
the substrate to bond. Caution: Do not over torch.
