PARTICIPANTS TERMS AND CONDITIONS
We want to take action to make our organisation or
business more Sugar Smart. We agree to










Take at least one action (although ideally more) on the Sugar Smart actions page and report back on progress.
We are happy for our details to be shared with the local Sugar Smart campaign coordinator (where
applicable), and for them to contact us about Sugar Smart.
To include the brand name of ‘Sugar Smart [local area]’ e.g. Sugar Smart Brighton & Hove or Sugar Smart
Lewisham, in all our Sugar Smart campaign activity, press releases, advertising, and other publically accessible
printed or digital material.
Make use of the logo, images, and other assets provided to us by Sugar Smart.
Not use the assets, the Sugar Smart brand or any other intellectual property of Sustain or the Jamie Oliver
Food Foundation or associated organisations or individuals for any purpose other than the campaign.
Not to use those assets for any purpose which is likely in the light of generally prevailing standards of decency
and propriety to cause offence or damage to the reputation of Sugar Smart, Sustain , the Jamie Oliver Food
Foundation and related organisations and individuals.
Immediately cease all use of the Sugar Smart assets and intellectual property on request of the Sugar Smart
Team.
Any press releases relating to Sugar Smart to be sent in advance to Sustain or Jamie Oliver Food Foundation
(and where you have one your local Sugar Smart campaign coordinator), who in turn can help promote your
work. We are not suggesting we will sign off press releases but will offer advice where appropriate.
We agree that we are happy to share 'clean' versions of any assets that we create for our campaigns with the
Sugar Smart Team and for them to be shared on the Sugar Smart Website.
To encourage other organisations and businesses to sign up to Sugar Smart.
Sustain and the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation are responsible for running the national Sugar Smart UK campaign
and for maintaining the integrity and relevance of the Sugar Smart UK declaration, relationships with national
stakeholders, and communication materials. Where possible the Sugar Smart Team will help communities around
the UK to establish Sugar Smart campaigns and advise on options for pursuing campaign activities and overcoming
common challenges. The Sugar Smart team will also share communication materials to be used or adapted in local
areas and with local partners.
Sustain and Jamie Oliver Food Foundation reserve the right to distance or separate the Sugar Smart campaign
from any local activities or pledges that might bring the national campaign’s integrity or independence into
disrepute.
