Drivers Duties Checklist
Checking fluids:
Please check the fluids each time
before leaving the lot
-unstrap both latches on the side of
the hood
-push hood forward
-lock will grab it to hold it in place.
You will need to unlock this
mechanism to close the hood (lift
and move to the left
-if fluid is low immediately contact
Morgan and fill will with appropriate
fluid (inside of bus)
-Check all 3 fluids: coolant, oil, and
transmission fluid
-coolant – only open when
engine is off and cold, if low then fill
with water
-oil – check levels are in a
safe range
-transmission (Red handle on
driver’s side) –check levels are in a
safe range
Hitching the trailer:
- Place plywood blocks (in truck bed)
under the jack
- remove metal pin from latch
- crank jack to raise the trailer tongue
enough for the ball socket on truck to
clear
- move truck to line up ball socket
with trailer tongue
- stop the truck when the ball socket
is an inch away from the tongue
- truck should move back about an
inch after putting it in park
-lower the tongue by cranking jack
until the ball catches and latch
moves into place (should be audible)
-check the latch and place the pin in
place
Also check classrooms for before
leaving:
-Extension cord
-Project drawer
-Mirrors
Vehicle notes:
Bus 3: Has an emergency power
shut off box under driver’s window
on outside
Both buses have an interior light on
the dash that reads “wait to start.”
Allow this to disappear first before
cranking engine
There are 2 off positions for the key
in the bus. Do not leave in the most
left position. Instead it should be in
the middle range.
Truck keys and Casitas gate keys
are in the office. Always return them
at the end of the day.
