NWC Invoice for 2013 affiliation fee due 20th July.
Outline from NWC of Affiliation fees distribution (see below for discussion).
Out:
Leigh sent grants applications to Trust House Foundation and Four Winds. Trust House
declined the application, awaiting the result from our Four Winds application.
Grade Review:
Top two A1 teams Marsden K1 and St Teresas Thunderbolts move to Yr7/8 Satellite
Competition at Hataitai. Regrading of teams - see attached from subsequent e-mail for final
grading. (D Grade Northland Shooting Stars requested assessment - moved to Kiwi Grade as
they are a composite team with large goal differential in all games.)
Kiwi Whistlers:
Non-netballer from Northland School enrolled – decision requested via e-mail if she should
be allowed to continue if fully committed. Schools supporting this: St Teresas, Te Aro, Karori
Normal, Otari, Karori West, Kelburn and Wadestown. No rejections. Committee Support
given to complete the course, however recommended that enrolment criteria for 2014 be
reviewed with priority given to WWN players. Subsequently commitments have changed
and she has withdrawn from course.
Incorporated Society:
The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) is trying to establish a process for becoming an
incorporated society and it is to be tested on WWN. Leigh and Debbie are to meet with
representative from DIA to discuss.
Affiliation Fee:
Some clarification around this still needed. In particular, how does WWN benefit from the
money it gives to Netball NZ – see Debbie’s recent e-mail. NWC - $2006.94, Netball NZ $1550.00, Wellington Zone - $4813.06. What do WWN (or NWC) get back for the fees we
pay to the Zone - Shayne to discuss further with NWC.
Website Administration:
Everything to be uploaded now needs to be sent to Claire [email protected]
Court Maintenance:
VUW – Court 1 mossy – Sue alerted VUW regarding court condition at beginning of the
season, not action – Sue to make contact again. Nets to be assessed on Court 4? – as
netballs getting stuck in net.
Nicky updated committee about Marsden Courts – Court 1 to be waterblasted and new
nets required on Court 3.
NWC suggestion of Intermediate competition at Hataitai courts in 2014:
Some discussion around recent e-mail to committee from NWC regarding idea of a Year 7/8
competition at Hataitai Courts. Need more information regarding this idea and when a
working party would be set up to discuss this. No feedback appropriate at present from
WWN as a lot of questions before committee would make a decision on behalf of the
satellite. Questions raised as to how this would affect our satellite and our Year 4 – 6 grades,
Kiwi Whistler umpires, if there are increased costs for teams, facility availability, Wellington
City Council tunnel and roading plans for area?
Next Meeting:
7.30pm Wednesday 25 September 2013 – Café 162
Meeting closed at 9.10pm.
