What's New in TouchBistro 5.9
In TouchBistro 5.9 we've removed the General
setting. See these release notes for where to find
options previously found under General. TouchBistro
also now supports the use of a Customer Facing
Display. We've also added support for Chase
Paymentech Canada.
Consult these release notes for full details on these
changes along with other improvements added in
version 5.9.

TouchBistro
Customer Facing Display Support
TouchBistro now supports using a second iPad as a
customer facing display (CFD). The CFD is a separate app
available from the Apple App store. A Customer Facing
Display setting page has been added under Admin |
Admin Settings.
See the Admin Guide for information on setting up and
using the CFD.
iOS8 Only Support
The TouchBistro 5.9 update is available only to users with
iPads updated to iOS8. If your iPad is still running iOS7,
you will need to update to iOS8 before the 5.9 update
appears in the App Store.
Removed Admin Setup's General
Setting
Many users found the options under the General setting
section confusing. We have moved the options under
General to more appropriate settings screens. You will
find the previous General options as follows

Before launching the CFD app, you will want to enable and
customize how your CFD appears. As well, note the
Current IP Address displayed in the Customer Facing
Display settings screen. This would be entered into the
CFD's start up screen.

Preventing Customers from Exiting Out of the
CFD
If the IP address of your TouchBistro iPad changes, close
the TouchBistro CFD. Visit the TouchBistro CFD settings
item and slide Reset IP Address to the green position.
Reopen the TouchBistro CFD and enter the new IP address
reported in TouchBistro.

To customize the CFD, you should prepare four images:

You can use your iPad's Guided Access feature (found
under your iPad's Settings) to lock your iPad into CFD only
mode. See Prevent Users Exiting TouchBistro or
TouchBistro CFD and Accessing Other Apps for step by
step help.

Enable/Disable Animations
Under the Other section, we've given you the ability to
disable slide-like transition effects when moving between
screens or opening dialog boxes.

Payment Gateways
Chase Paymentech Support (Canada Only)
TouchBistro now supports Chase Paymentech and the
iTC250 terminal for Canadian venues. We've added it as a
selectable payment gateway under Admin | Admin
Settings | Payment Gateways.
Merchant Warehouse is now Cayan
The Merchant Warehouse payment gateway has changed
its name to Cayan. This has been updated in 5.9.
