Article by M. Sivani, IInd year ECE-A
DON’T QUIT
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road your trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and its turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When they might have won, had they stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victors cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when your hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit!
What is a Teacher………….

“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”Good teachers
are costly, but bad teachers cost more.

The job of a teacher is to excite in the young a boundless sense of curiosity about life, so
that the growing child shall come to apprehend it with an excitement tempered by awe
and wonder.

Teaching is the only major occupation of man for which we have not yet developed
tools that make an average person capable of competence and performance. In teaching
we rely on the “naturals,” the ones who somehow know how to teach.

Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher."

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher
demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.
“The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young
minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards.”


In teaching you cannot see the fruit of a day's work. It is invisible and remains so,
maybe for twenty years.

Teaching is leaving a vestige of oneself in the development of another. And surely the
student is a bank where you can deposit your most precious treasures.

“Teachers, I believe, are the most responsible and important members of society
because their professional efforts affect the fate of the earth.”

“No matter how good teaching may be, each student must take the responsibility for his
own education.”

Teachers are expected to reach unattainable goals with inadequate tools. The miracle is
that at times they accomplish this impossible task.

“The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads
you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called "truth.”

The best teacher is the one who suggests rather than dogmatizes, and inspires his
listener with the wish to teach himself.

The task of the excellent teacher is to stimulate “apparently ordinary” people to unusual
effort. The tough problem is not in identifying winners: it is in making winners out of
ordinary people.

Those who educate children well are more to be honoured than parents, for these only
gave life, those the art of living well.


It is commonly said that a teacher fails if he has not been surpassed by his students.
A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others.

Staff Development Programme
Dr.B.L.Malleswari, Professor in ECE, GNITS, has conducted an orientation
program in the campus under Staff Development Programme on the
topic “Preparing Students to be Industry Ready and Institute - Industry
Interface Necessity in Current Times” on 6th August,2011 ,from 2:00pm to
4:00pm in Main Seminar Hall. Generally, in the Institutions , orientation of
faculty and students will be only on academics . When the students are
facing the campus interviews from any Industry, students will be in
transition mode. To fill the gap between Institute and Industry , GNITS has
