6 Moultrie County, Illinois News•Progress Wednesday, April 7, 2010 Agri-Fab team takes first place in annual busterball tournament The Sullivan Blue Dolphins hosted their annual busterball tournament on March 6 at Sullivan Elementary school. The winning teams, according to age group, were: kindergarten, first grade division championship team of Peyton Pool, Clancy Appleby, Easton White, Ryan Bailey, Tyrin Scott and Cody Crowe. The Sportsmanship Award team consisted of Sammantha Montague, Raimi Gardner, Maddie Carr, Hailey Williams and Kinley Hill. The second grade division championship team was Austin Murphy, Drew Kirk, Patrick Owens, Tristan Whitten, Michael Nolen, and Cameron Martin. The Sportsmanship Award Team consisted of Corynn Kean, Ashlynn Bennett, Madalyne McPheeters, Sophie Fultz, Layni Boyer and Claire Appleby. The third grade division championship team was Matthew Klukis, Justus Forry, Gabe McGregor, Jacob Trussell, Ayden Matheson and Payton Trier. The Sportsmanship Award team consisted of Ally Elzy, Sydney Hartman, Hannah Schlieker, Alyssa Bohon, Tatem Willison, Irie Dulin. The championship team of the fourth grade division included Andrew Matlock, Payton Westjohn, Ethan Neville, Logan Pedigo, Preston Waggoner and Bryce Hubbard. The Sportsmanship Award team was Bailey Turnbaugh, Chloe Riley, Tori Gottfriedt, Allie O'Neill, Maryann Quiroz, Haley Rose and Madison Dickens. Tommy Schibur, Trey Garriot, Charlie Goss, Brennon Mitchell, Andy Freeman and Bretton Crouse were the fifth grade division championship team, and Jarod Merryman, Jazmyn Jayne, Bryce King, Drew Lehman, Jon Gavin, Kailyn Boyer were the Sportsman Award winning team. Athletes prepare for state meet by Scott Lockwood [email protected] When most think of March Madness, they think of the highlighted NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. However, athletes from the local Prairie Land Tumbling and Trampoline think the term “March Madness” applies to them as well. Athletes from Prairie Land competed in three meets in March in order to prepare for the quickly approaching State Championships in April. On March 6-7, 35 athletes from Prairie Land competed in the first competition of the month held in Monticello. This competition was followed by a meet held at Lake Land College in Mattoon two weeks later. Prairie Land took 45 athletes to this event and was very pleased with the athletes’ strong results. made up of Nick Kelsey, Ross Metzger, Trey Skocy, Cole Bowsher and Trevor Tarr. The Sportsmanship Award Team was Sam Rousser, Grant King, River Edwards, Zach Hall, CJ Elder and Jasmine Culp. Seventh and Eighth grade division champions were Nick Frerichs, Dylan Hart, Logan Riley, Elissa Stewart, Lauren McCain and Brittin Boyer. In the high school/adult The competitors’ last stop of the month was located in Rantoul on March 28. Thirtytwo athletes competed in Rantoul to finish up the regular season of competition.
