“Venn Diagrams and Number Sets”
Summary: In this activity, students use Scratch for an introduction to Venn diagrams
with introductory set theory. This activity includes visual, numeric and explanatory
examples of number set theory including intersect, union and NOT (not A = A’)
expressions.
• Students will be taken through
animations that help visualize
set theory using Venn diagrams.
• Additionally, students will
attempt to create a simple Venn
diagram program using Scratch
after completing the “Venn
Diagrams and Number Sets”
program by using the program
to see code blocks and how
they’re structured.
