Mr Sandile Ngcobo
President and Chair of Convocation
Mr Sandile Ngcobo was born and bred in KwaMashu, completing his high school
education at Inhlanhlayethu – a public school at Inanda. A defining moment in Mr
Ngcobo’s life was his first graduation at which he was awarded his BAdmin
degree. He then went on to complete his BCom(Hons) degree at the University of
Durban-Westville and recently received a MBA from the University of KwaZuluNatal.
Mr Ngcobo is passionate about ploughing back as he continues to lecture parttime at UNISA in Human Resource Management; Business and Strategic
Management. He is currently the Deputy Head of Supply Chain Management at
eThekwini Municipality. Mr Ngcobo has been the Chairperson of the KwaZuluNatal Institute of Procurement and Supply South Africa (IPSA) since 2006 and
serves on numerous boards and executive committees.
Mr Ngcobo is a father of two – Olwethu and Noluthando. He sees himself as
humble and honest and dedicated to uplifting others. His philosophy of life: “when
we wake up in the morning; we have two choices. Go back to sleep and dream or
wake up and chase those dreams … the choice is yours.”
