IHU VPN Configuration Instructions for Mac
From the Apple menu choose System Preferences
Click on Network in the System Preferences window
On the right bottom corner of the following window click the '+' icon to make a new
network connection
In the pop-up window appeared perform the following actions:
Next to interface select VPN, next to VPN Type select PPTP and next to Service Name type
IHU VPN and then click Create.
In order to continue, ensure that IHU VPN connection is selected from the list of networks
on the left side of the Network window and then make the following configurations:
Next to Configuration select Default, next to Server Address type vpn1.ihu.edu.gr, next to
Account Name type your elearn account username, for example g.papadopoulou.
Check also the Show VPN status in menu bar option to easily connect and disconnect to IHU
VPN from the top menu bar of your Mac screen.
Next, click on Authentication Settings button and in the Password field of the pop-up
window, type your elearn account password and then click OK.
Click on the Advanced button on the main Network window to continue
In the Option tab check Send all traffic over VPN connection box and click OK
Finally, click Apply and then Connect to connect to IHU VPN.
To disconnect from the VPN Service click on the VPN Icon in the top menu bar of your Mac
screen and then click Disconnect. You can click the same icon in order to connect next time
to IHU VPN.
