The event’s beneficiary is the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Open to the public and a premiere event on the city’s social calendar, the Black Tie Tailgate is a charitable gala that annually kicks off the Philadelphia Auto Show with an evening of dining and dancing at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The 2013 event will take place on Friday, January 18, from 7:00p.m. to 11:30p.m. Guests will enjoy a sneak peek of the display floor of the 2013 Philadelphia Auto Show while listening to the sounds of Jellyroll, which is one of the region’s best dance bands. The menu will be designed by Stephen STARR Events, which brings its cuisine, service and experience of the wildly successful restaurants to the world of catering and special events. “This year’s Black Tie Tailgate is poised to be one of our best yet. Treat yourself to a night out on the town that will benefit a great cause or consider treating someone special and purchase tickets as a holiday gift,” said Michael Chapman, 2013 Philadelphia Auto Show Chairman. “We’ve made key enhancements that will add to the already one-of-a-kind experience, including a new event layout that utilizes both the open floor plan of the newly-expanded PA Convention Center but also the beauty and ambiance of the Grand Hall where Jellyroll will have guests dancing all night long. Trust me, this is the way to experience everything the Philadelphia Auto Show has to offer.” As previously indicated, event proceeds will benefit the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. With over 28,000 patient visits every year, the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition was recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the #1 GI program in the country and provides multi-disciplinary, family-centered care for a wide range of conditions including inflammatory bowel disease, general diagnostic gastroenterology, failure to thrive, liver disease, pancreatic disease, gastroparesis and motility. The Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia, owners and producers of the Philadelphia Auto Show, in conjunction with its Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation has supported the extraordinary work of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia since 1986 via proceeds from its annual Black Tie Tailgate and other philanthropic activities.
