very first Palais des Festivals
A 5-star hotel in the heart of Cannes, overlooking the sea at 50, Boulevard de la Croisette, a mere stone’s throw
from the old town, the Palais des Festivals, the old port, just 30 minutes from Nice Côte d’Azur airport.
The new owner has invested €38 million, in the former Noga Hilton, and has transformed it into a stunningly chic,
contemporary and glamorous hotel, drawing inspiration from the “Seventh Art” for an outstanding new look which
now graces a 1992 building on the site of the former Palais des Festivals, in Cannes, the “city of light”.
The Jw Marriott Cannes is a luxury hotel with superb amenities: 2 rooftop jacuzzis and an outdoor pool with
panoramic views, an 825-seat auditorium, 1200 m² (13000sq.ft.) of flexible space for seminars, a restaurant, a
Casino, and world class boutiques.
The legend awaits you…
A new star is born: JW Marriott Cannes
Some historical background…
In 1949 the first Palais des Festivals opened at 50 Boulevard de la Croisette,
on the site of the former Cannes Nautical Circle. The International Film
Festival was held there until 1983 when the new building was opened.
The former Palais was then demolished to make way for the Noga Hilton
hotel which was built in 1992.
The building was approved on the condition that it could accomodate an
825-seat auditorium.
In February 2006, the hotel was purchased by the Jesta Group headed by
the businessman Elliott Aintabi.
Jesta embarked on the most spectacular and comprehensive renovations undertaken in the past ten years on “La
Croisette”. It took months and months of work to plan and transform the hotel into an icon of style with chic,
modern design, the perfect embodiment of the glamorous film festivals of the 1950s, with the luxury of today.

The “Key Players”
Elliott Aintabi, CEO of Jesta and owner of JW Marriott Cannes
Elliott Aintabi, an exceptional businessman with a glittering career, was not deterred by a world in economic crisis
from investing €38 million in the renovations of the youngest of Cannes’ luxury hotels, the former Noga Hilton,
which became in 2006, the Palais Stéphanie.
He started his career at the beginning of the 80s in his family’s real property business. Then he went on to create the
Jesta Group (the name of the group is made up from the first letters of the forenames of each of his children) which
specialises in property investment in the residential, industrial and tertiary sectors.
His keen interest in the hotel business led him to acquire the Noga Hilton in February 2006 which he then renamed
Palais Stéphanie (the first name of one of his daughters). His dream is to imbue this luxury hotel, situated on one of
the most beautiful bays in the world, with an exclusive soul. His wish is to make sure that this exceptional hotel is
positioned in such a way that it can offer its entire range of charms to a business and leisure clientele.
