DUE DATE: Cell Comics Superhero Learning Target: I will be able to describe the structure of a cell and the function of specific parts. Directions: Create a comic book story whose superheroes are cell organelles. You may hand draw or user technology to create you comic book. There should be at least 10 panels of action but there is no maximum limit. I appreciate all forms of humor (even if they include the “Evil” Mr. Golgi who has come to package the stolen goods and ship them out of the country) just be willing to show these comics to your parents, grandparents, and siblings. I will give you a template to use but you are welcome to make your own version, maybe even make a book. You can also make an epic PowerPoint version with sound effects and embedded animations or make your comics using some other creative software product. This is a long term assignment, which means you CANNOT wait until the night before (sound familiar?) to do it. You must start TONIGHT and do a little bit each night until you are done. There will be other nightly homework to do so don’t put your feet up just yet. You are welcome and encouraged to show me your comics ahead of time to check that you are on the right track but since this will count as a PERFORMANCE TASK/TEST grade, I can’t check them for errors before they are formally submitted. REQUIREMENTS: Clear and concise drawings of organelles ( with allowances for artistic freedom) A well-developed storyline/plot ( Very Important!) Accurate information ( example: Ribosome Man should not be seen capturing energy from the sun) Clarity of writing/drawing o Technique Tip: Make sure each panel is balanced and doesn’t have things squished together) Crystal clear descriptions or demonstrations of each organelle’s structure (its size and what it looks like) and function ( what it does). You can have more than one organelle in a panel.
