Pest Management - Call-Out Services
For those customers who do not require the year round cover provided by a
pest management contract with us, we provide good value one-off treatments
for all pest types. Typical treatments for rats, mice, squirrels and fleas cost
£130.57, ants £87.04 and wasps £45.00 (all prices exc VAT). For further
peace of mind consider a pest management contract.
Pest Management Contracts
The prices shown below are a guide to the annual price of a pest management
contract with Wakefield Council’s Pest Control Service for the following
standard service:

Six contract service visits per year by our fully trained and NPTA
accredited pest control officers.

Free call-outs for professional advice and treatment / eradication of the
pests included in the contract.

Contract Service Log – to provide a written record of the service visits and
treatments undertaken (essential for Due Diligence and customer audits).

Electronic fly-killers, fly screens, bird-proofing and other pest management
service available at discounted rates.

All Pest Control Officers Wildlife Aware trained and treatments fully
compliant with the Code for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU).

Access to the wider Environmental Health services so that off-site pest and
other environmental problems can be dealt with.
The contract specification can be tailored to suit your particular needs.

Further Guidance / Definitions
Small / Medium Premises: typical high street shops, take-aways
and restaurants, school kitchens, offices, small industrial units
and domestic premises.
Large Premises: warehouses, manufacturing premises, hotels,
waste recycling facilities, whole school premises, larger office
blocks, leisure centres and swimming pools.
High Risk: where open food is prepared, consumed or stored; or
where waste is handled or processed as an integral use of the
premises.
Typical examples include take-aways, restaurants,
food manufacturers, waste transfer stations.
Low Risk: Premises that are not high risk because they are not
used for the preparation etc of food or waste. Examples include
shops which only sell wrapped or packaged food, non-food retail,
non-food manufacturing, warehousing or leisure complexes.
Rats & Mice: includes treatment of rats and mice inside buildings
and rats outside in the grounds of the premises.
Insects: includes cockroaches, bedbugs, fleas, ants, and similar
infestations of crawling insects inside premises and wasp nests
inside and outside (but within the grounds) of the premises. Wood
boring insects are not included.
