The Players’ Tribune is a multimedia platform that connects
athletes directly with their fans. Derek Jeter founded The
Players’ Tribune to give athletes a voice and bring fans
closer than ever before to the games they love. The new
platform aims to provide unique insight into the daily sports
conversation and to publish first-person stories directly from
athletes. From video to podcasts to player polls and written
pieces, The Players’ Tribune will strive to be “The Voice of
the Game.”
The Players’ Tribune has introduced Blue Jeans Primetime
technology to make it possible for athletes to share their
stories with thousands of fans at the click of a button. In
turn, fans are able to directly speak with the athletes face to
face by raising their virtual hand to interact directly with their
professional sports heroes.
Derek Jeter and The Players’ Tribune chose Blue Jeans
Primetime to create an open conversation between athletes,
reporters and the millions of fans that crave closer, more
meaningful interaction.
Challenge
The Players’ Tribune needed a way to make an intimate
conversation possible on a massive scale in a time where
social media, television networks and other media outlets
bombard fans with filtered information.
The new media platform strives to give fans direct access to
the players and let players share their own stories, building
real connections through live, personal interactions.
Athletes can tell their story as if they were in the same
room as viewers from anywhere in the world. Story telling,
discussion groups, or Q & A sessions, they’re all possible
with ease, security and consistency. Unlike conventional
fan engagement tools, Blue Jeans Primetime makes the
experience interactive and dynamic, all in real-time.
