Sun safety and Relay For Life
As you start to make a list of all the things you
need to bring to Relay, don’t forget to add
some SunSense items to your list. You will
need a wide-brim hat, protective clothing to
cover your arms and legs, sunglasses and SPF
15 or higher sunscreen.
UV rays are most powerful and intense
between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., and this is when
you will be setting up, so being safe in the sun
is important. Don’t let a sunburn ruin your time
at Relay.
Healthy Living
Fight cancer by going green
Studies show that there may be a connection
between pesticides and cancer in adults and
children.
Since the cosmetic use of pesticides has no
health benefit and has the potential to cause
harm, the Canadian Cancer Society endorses
the use of the precautionary principle, and calls
for a ban on the use and sale of cosmetic
pesticides.
Visit www.pesticidefreeforlife.ca for more
information on how to go green.

How bank nights can help your
FUNdraising club total
If you bring your offline donations and fundraising
money into the Society on a bank night, you can
be sure these amounts will be included in your
FUNdraising total.
Of course, you can also bring your money in to any
Canadian Cancer Society office during regular
business hours.
Offline donations that are not received by the
Society before the event will not be counted
towards your FUNdraising club total.
