Notice of City of Mason Leaf Pickup
October 24 through November 18, 2016
The Department of Public Works Division is preparing for its annual leaf pickup
which begins October 24 and runs through November 18. The schedule for pickup
days is:
Monday
South of Ash, East of Jefferson
Tuesday
North of Ash, East of Jefferson
Wednesday
South of Ash, West of Jefferson
Thursday
North of Ash, West of Jefferson
Friday
Catch-up day
Please keep in mind this schedule is dependent upon weather and other
priorities within the Department.
The City has two leaf pickup machines to collect leaves out of the parkway (the
area between the sidewalk and the curb). We ask you to rake your leaves in neat
rows along the curb, not in the street. Please only rake leaves. Our machines pick
up leaves, not trash and large items such as concrete, logs, pieces of steel, or
garbage.
Leaves that have not been picked up between the 24th of October and the 18th of
November may be taken to the City’s Compost Center in paper bags. The
Compost Center is located at 862 North Mason Street and will be open during the
week (M – F) by appointment, and Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm beginning
October 29, 2016 through November 19, 2016. Call Kirk Crawford (676-9266) for
access to the Compost Center during the week. The Compost Center accepts only
leaves — no brush or limbs.
The City Parkway Leaf Collection program dates are October 24 through
November 18, 2016, and the weekly Granger yard waste program continues
through November 26, 2016.
