Dear Parents/Guardians;
Events in school:
The Y1 children visited the library today and met some of the county’s finest firefighters and their fire
engine. The children had a great time exploring the fire engine and were taught a great deal about the
role of a firefighter and fire safety.
Friends Update:
“Roll-up, roll-up; Circus tickets update!” Next Friday 16th June from 8:40am, the Friendly Association will
be selling the Circus tickets outside Pre-School and again at 2:45pm. Tickets are £5 and the Circus show
times will be at 3:30pm and 6pm – under 2s go free.
School Trip: A quick reminder that next week our Year 1 and 2 children will be visiting Cotswold Wildlife
Park and will need to wear school uniform, to take packed lunch (unless you are in receipt of meanstested benefits and the school will happily supply one – please ensure you tick the correct box on the
letter that went out) and a waterproof coat.
Absences:
A gentle reminder that if your child has been ill/sick during the night, they need to remain off school for
48 hours since the last time they vomited. It is essential we follow this policy, so we can reduce the risk of
further and unnecessary illness in the school – many thanks for your consideration
Sainsbury’s Vouchers:
We are pleased to say that the school community has raised over 8200 vouchers for the school to use for
sports and play equipment. Thank you all for your efforts
Green Class Assembly:
Please note that the date for Green Class Assembly has changed from 19.6.17 to 23.6.17.
School Improvement:
The school had its 3rd Project Group Meeting this week and I’m pleased to announce that the Local
Authority is very happy with the school’s progress in pursuit of improvement. They were specifically
happy with the developments in provision for all groups of children and how the teachers are accurately
planning and deploying resources to meet the needs of all learners. As always, if you would like to talk to
me about some of the things we are doing, then don’t hesitate to come and see me.
