See how we’re helping The ACC Liverpool Group venues create the right kind of energy. Helping our customers. We’re on it. The ACC Liverpool Group operates the city’s leading venue, comprising the 11,000 capacity Echo Arena, the award-winning BT Convention Centre and Exhibition Centre Liverpool. As well as being the only purpose-built interconnected arena, convention and exhibition centre in Europe, The ACC Liverpool Group also operates one of the most sustainable venues of its kind. Gerald Andrews, Finance Director at The ACC Liverpool Group, explains: “Being a sustainable venue has been vital to us from the outset and it’s one of the reasons we’re with E.ON. We’ve been with them for eight years and they’ve always provided us with a total energy package rather than simply supplying energy. “Their expertise and insight have helped us cut our energy costs and improve our environmental credentials significantly, by managing our energy consumption in a smarter way and installing a wide range of energy efficiency measures.” “Now, they’re even helping us to generate our own renewable energy with solar panels. As a result, we’ll save around £20,000 off our energy bills and lower our carbon emissions every year, for at least the next 20 years. That’s an incredible saving and a huge step forward in terms of being a truly sustainable venue, demonstrating our commitment to the environment, clients and visitors. “E.ON installed 925 solar photovoltaic panels on the roof of our new 8,100 square metre Exhibition Centre Liverpool, which will generate around 250,000kWh hours of renewable electricity every year – enough to power 78 UK homes*. The energy will be used across our three venues, to power everything from exhibitions and conferences to banquets, concerts and sporting events, as well as our new four-star, 216-room Pullman Liverpool Hotel. “E.ON specialises in providing organisations like ours with tailored, end-to-end energy solutions. In our case we wanted to save energy and become as sustainable as possible, and that’s what E.ON has helped us achieve. They’ve been our energy provider from day one and now they’re a huge part of our ongoing drive for ever-greater sustainability.” *Based on Ofgem average domestic electricity consumption of 3,200kWh per year (https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/ofgem-publications/74735/tdcvreview-consultation-pdf) E.ON UK plc.
