The school photographer will be
visiting on Wednesday 12th
October. The photographs are all
so much nicer if the children are in
full school uniform with shirts and
ties. We will try to take the Primary
1 photographs early in the morning
before they have a chance to
become dishevelled. Please ensure
that you return the letter if you wish
a family group photograph.
Book Week

During the week of Parent / Carer
night we will be running our annual
book fayre. This will run throughout
the week beginning 10th October.

have the opportunity to buy a
selection of books. Your child will
also be given a piece of homework
linked with the book fayre theme.
Please continue to support us in
reading as much as possible with
your child. This will improve their
reading ability and their love of
books.
The next Parent Council meetings
will held on Wednesday 9th
November at 3.15pm.Please do
come along and join us as we need
lots of help and support to arrange
a variety of events. A crèche will be
provided for these meetings.

of our new Parents / Carers of

more about our Literacy Boards
and how they should be used to
develop literacy skills.
Nursery News
October will be another very busy
month for us in Nursery. Our Parent
/ Carer evening will also be held on
Wednesday 12th October. We look
forward to seeing as many of you
as possible on this night.
Parents and carers of Nursery
children are invited to our Harvest
assembly as this will be led by our
Nursery children. A Harvest Tea will
be served after the assembly.
Our Hallowe’en Party will be held
on Friday 28th October. Times for
this will be sent home at a later
date.
.
School Parking
Our drop off zone can be very busy
in the morning with many children
being dropped off for school. Can
Parents / Carers please remember
that the area directly outside the
playground is a drop off zone only
and not a parking zone. By parking
here the area can become very
congested and children, at times,
are in more danger from being in an
accident. Please work with us to
help keep our school area safe.
We are always delighted to see as
many of you as possible at our
special events within the school.
Our first showcase of the year will
be delivered by Primary 6 (Mrs
Wood’s Class) and Primary 6/7a
(Miss Sommerville’s Class). This
will be held on Friday 28th October
at 1.30pm.We look forward to
seeing you all there.
Payment for Outings /
Residential Trips
Thank you to everyone for sending
