 Peer Action Team 2015 Goals TriWest Finding CO 2.5: Access to specialized supports for people with complex needs is lacking. *Please note that all Peer Action Team goals follow the principles of the Mental Health Services Act, Cultural Competency Plan and the ADMHS Systems Change Steering Committee. The term "peer" means those with lived experience and includes both consumers and family members. _________________________________________________________________________________ Goal #1: Strengthen the role of the Consumer and Family Member Advisory Committee (CFMAC) a. Ensure participation of the Consumer Empowerment Manager on the Leadership team to inform of client and family activities, reduce stigma and gain support for clients and family members. (1‐31‐15) b. Invite ADMHS and CBO leaders to attend and participate in each of the CFMAC meetings to inform of client and family activities, reduce stigma and gain support for clients and family members. (1‐31‐15) Goal #2: Monitor the implementation of the Recovery Learning Center (RLC) Guidance Councils to strengthen and ensure peer voices. a. Develop and administer a survey to ensure consumers have a voice at the RLC .(2‐26‐15) b. Re‐administer the survey to monitor implementation .(6‐30‐15) Goal #3: Increase the number of peer support specialists who graduated from three WET trainings be hired within the Santa Barbara County Behavioral Health System a. Provide follow‐up information and resources on job coaching, placement and vocational support to the WET graduates (1‐30‐15 thru 12‐30‐15) b. Identify barriers to peers being hired and propose solutions for review by the Leadership Team (4‐1‐15) c. Propose the expansion of the Peer Expert Pool to include the hiring of more WET graduates in part‐time extra help positions within ADMHS (3‐15‐15) d. Inform and promote the Peer Expert Pool to the CBO Coalition and all contracted providers as a potential resource for hiring peers. (2‐28‐15) e. Hire ten additional peers within ADMHS and CBO's to ensure the integration of peers into the behavioral health system.(12‐30‐15) Goal #4: Establish a career ladder for peers working at ADMHS a. Complete the PE10 for Peer Recovery Specialist and submit to Human Resources (1‐30‐15). b. Get approval for the Peer Recovery Specialist job descriptions (3‐1‐15). Goal #5: Advance the Recovery Model within ADMHS and contracted providers a. Prepare a proposal to request that ADMHS include fidelity to a recovery model as a component in staff Employee Performance Reviews. (3‐1‐15) b. Develop a Training Plan that will support ADMHS and CBO advancement of the recovery model and strengthen skills. (3‐15‐15) c. Work with the Training Coordinator to ensure the implementation of the Training Plan for ADMHS and CBO staff. (4‐15‐15) d. Continue implementation of the Peer Integration Plan with the entire ADMHS staff. (1‐1‐15 thru 12‐30‐15) Goal #6: Increase access to outpatient services a. Using the 10 positions under Goal #3e, prepare a proposal to request that ADMHS hire persons with lived experience to serve as Peer System Navigators in each of the ADMHS outpatient clinics.
