Application to the organisers should be done online as early as possible. If you are new to exports and/or exhibiting and would like further information, please contact Paul Alger at UKFT and get a free copy of “Making an Exhibition of Yourself – a guide to showing abroad”. There have been some changes to the grant scheme and the level of the grant since last season, so you should read the accompanying Guidelines, whether you are applying for the first time or not. The Government scheme for trade fair support aims to restrict grant assistance primarily to companies who are both SMEs and NEW EXPORTERS, or who have been exporting for less than 10 years (see attached guidelines for definitions). However, SMEs who have not shown at the previous edition of this event might still be eligible for a grant even if they are experienced exporters. Grants will be at a flat rate of £1,000 towards your show costs, provided you have paid a minimum of £2,000 on the stand or eligible costs directly related to the exhibition, and are paid after the show. If you would like to apply you should now: 1. Complete the UKFT application form and the UKTI TRADESHOW ACCESS PROGRAMME (TAP) form 2. Scan and e-mail both to Ana Findlator at UKFT [email protected] 3. Pay the UKFT fee – either by cheque, credit/debit card or bank transfer The TAP form will be sent to your local UK Trade & Investment office who will decide whether you are eligible for grant support. If you are new to the scheme, they will call you to check on your business so please respond to their calls or e-mails promptly so as not to hold up your application.
