Pitti Uomo is the leading international menswear show. Every year it attracts over 30,000 trade buyers and
press from around the world, making it the moist important and most international menswear event. It also
includes a new and smaller section for women’s pre-collections.
UKFT has secured a limited number of grants to support UK companies at the show. UKFT expects to have an
information stand in the Salone M part of the show. UK companies are advised to contact the organisers of the
show as early as possible to express their interest in taking part and apply for space. A vetting process exists in
every section of the show and the organisers have the final say on acceptances and stand allocations.

If you would like to show and would like a grant, you should apply to us for the grant at the same time
as you apply to the organisers for space. Don’t wait until you have been offered confirmed space at the
show or it may be too late to get a grant. If you don’t get space, or you pull out for some reason,
provided you let us know well in advance, we can withdraw your grant application and refund the UKFT
fee. Application to the organisers should be done online as early as possible.
If you are new to exports and/or exhibiting and would like further information, please contact Paul Alger at UKFT and
get a free copy of “Making an Exhibition of Yourself – a guide to showing abroad”.
There have been some changes to the grant scheme and the level of the grant since last season, so you
should read the accompanying Guidelines, whether you are applying for the first time or not.
The Government scheme for trade fair support aims to restrict grant assistance primarily to companies who are both
SMEs and NEW EXPORTERS, or who have been exporting for less than 10 years (see attached guidelines for
definitions). However, SMEs who have not shown at the previous edition of this event might still be eligible for a grant
even if they are experienced exporters.
Grants will be at a flat rate of £1,000 towards your show costs, provided you have paid a minimum of £2,000
on the stand or eligible costs directly related to the exhibition, and are paid after the show. If you would like to
apply you should now:
1. Complete the UKFT application form and the UKTI TRADESHOW ACCESS PROGRAMME (TAP) form
2. Scan and e-mail both to Ana Findlator at UKFT [email protected]
3. Pay the UKFT fee – either by cheque, credit/debit card or bank transfer
The TAP form will be sent to your local UK Trade & Investment office who will decide whether you are eligible for grant
support. If you are new to the scheme, they will call you to check on your business so please respond to their calls or
e-mails promptly so as not to hold up your application. For further information please contact Paul Alger at UKFT: Tel:

show at this event last season, (see accompanying sheet for more information and definitions) and must demonstrate
that you are selling goods originating substantially in the UK or adding significant value to a product of non-UK origin.
After the exhibition you must provide us with proof of payment within one month of the exhibition. You may also be
asked to complete a post-event evaluation questionnaire.
