Ebony Smith
Profile
I am a paediatric and neonatal intensive care nurse from Australia. I have a great passion for children and helping
them develop and grow. Having had lots of babysitting experience with my little brother, niece and nephew as well
as children of friends and family, I feel that I have the skills and knowledge to become a highly skilful and sort after
nanny.
Having looked after babies and children of all ages as a nurse, I feel that I have great understanding in the
developmental needs of children at each age and milestone. I have developed skills to asses children to ensure they
are growing and developing at an appropriate rate. I thoroughly enjoy using games and play as a way to help
children learn.
I have also had a great deal of experience with children who have severe global developmental delay and
neurological impairment. I have been involved in developing ways to help these children communicate and am able
to assess their needs.
Working with newborns and their parents has taught me breastfeeding techniques and I am very comfortable with
first time parents. I get enjoyment in helping parents learn new techniques to care for their babies.
Personal Interests/Background
Having grown up in a large family I am definitely a people person and enjoy interacting with children. I have a great
passion for travel and exploring new places and cultures. Scuba diving and snowboarding are my hobbies. I am a very
active person and enjoy the outdoors and exercise.
