The University of Nairobi American football team was started by Tom Kelly, the Gridiron Diplomat
and Marketer in1997.He later raised a team in Makerere .University and Dar-es- Salaam University
.These teams have grown in strength and number and participated in the 2012 East African America
Football tournament. Kigali and Juba Universities teams have since joined the league and
participated in the Makerere.
The Kenya side (University of Nairobi team) which has also grown to be the National team and
Regional champions has attracted the attention of donors who wish to see the team grow within and
outside the University.
On 29th June 2013, the University team received seventy (70) T-shirts and caps valued at ksh.800
per set
The 2014/2015 commitment for the team is to see the sport gain root in secondary schools in spite
of the heavy cost of kitting
