“My First Apartment” Move-In Kit
This service project will benefit the youth who are in
transition out of our shelter and into their first apartment,
and it is a great way for service clubs, businesses,
classrooms or other groups to make a real difference. We
know not everyone can schedule their day to volunteer in
the Urban Peak shelter specifically, and so the kit allows
involvement with a lot of flexibility.
Please place the small items in a laundry basket. Items listed in red are priority needs
and we encourage you to include them for sure. Other items that are listed are optional
if you wish to include them. The estimated cost to compile one “My First Apartment” kit
is $150 to $200 (based on items in red only).
Feel free to add any items you think would be helpful for someone moving into their first
apartment. Please DO NOT include religious items, personal notes, cash, or your
personal contact information.

and hand lotion
 Bathroom cleaning supplies: toilet
brush, toilet bowl cleaner, 409
type cleaner, windex, and sponge
 Laundry soap
 Small trash can and trash bags
 $20 gift card to Target, Walmart,
King Soopers, Safeway, or
Sprouts
Once you have collected all items, please contact our volunteer coordinator and arrange
for a drop off when we can visit with you and say thanks!
