Job Description – reporting to the Lead of Conference Development
As the Director of Productions, you will be working in the Conference Development team and will be in
charge of all aspects of running the logistics and productions of the TEDx Conference. With the help of
key University personnel and volunteers, you will be helping the A/V team to ensure smooth operations
on the day of the Conference. During the year you will also execute the plans needed to acquire and
train the Host(ess) and recruit talented and unique Performers for the Conference. We are looking for an
engaging, detail-oriented and organized individual for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
 Collaborate with University staff and A/V team to ensure smooth flow of productions on
Conference day. Direct the production with cues for host and speakers
 Working with the TEDxUTSC team to incorporate the Conference theme into the stage design
 Create a logistics plan with the Lead of Conference Development to best utilize Associates and
Executive team
 Working with the University to secure the right material suppliers within the budget
 Execution of key strategic plans to seek out, secure and support potential Host and unique
Performers for the Conference
Required Qualifications:
 Flair for creativity, originality and aesthetic sense
 Strong time management and organizational skills
 Detail-oriented personality and experience working with large-scale events an asset
 Superior interpersonal and communication skills
 Resourcefulness and networks within and outside of campus to identify potential candidates
