Foundation Fund
Endowment Campaign
YOU can be part of this amazing opportunity!
THANK YOU to everyone who has already joined the effort with
75 gifts and pledges totaling more than $300,000, qualifying the
campaign for an additional $150,000 in matching funds!
WHY – The goal of the Building Our Community Campaign is to raise
$500,000 for our community endowment by December 31, 2018.
When we achieve that goal, The Sherwood Foundation of Omaha
will grant the Brown County Community Foundation Fund an
additional $250,000. So $2.00 can equal $3.00.
This $750,000 “future opportunities fund” will be used to ensure that
Brown County continues to be a place that attracts people to live,
work and raise a family and for younger generations to make their
own mark through leadership of the Brown County Community
Foundation Fund.
WHAT – It is exciting to imagine what a $750,000 increase in our
endowment can do for Brown County – an additional $33,750 for
community grants each and every year! Gifts to the endowment
not only last forever, they increase in size. A portion of the income
earned by the unrestricted endowment is used each year for grants,
leaving the principal intact and continuing to build the fund. As a
result, each contribution to the endowment “keeps on giving” year
after year.
WHO – Our fund is about people. The Brown County Community
Foundation Fund is a way for people who love Brown County to
give something back. Community leaders from each successive
generation will be able to take better advantages of the opportunities
in their time.

One of these accounts is the
Ainsworth High School Alumni

awarded 45 graduating seniors
from Ainsworth High School over
$18,500 in scholarships.
We don’t know what Brown
County’s needs and opportunities
will be in the future, but we are
preparing for them NOW!
