For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice” - John 18:37. Minister: And as we read the birth narrative of Jesus we see that Mary and Elizabeth and Simeon and Anna knew theirs. What is your place in God’s plans? Secretary: “Do not imagine that you in the king’s palace can escape any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” - Esther 4:13-14. Through divine intervention she was selected to be Ahasuerus’s queen, and she intervened with the king and averted the plot to kill all the Jews. Indeed, she had “come to the kingdom for such a time as this.” Our role in life is not as dramatic as the role Esther played. But make no mistake — we are also where we are at this time in history to play an important role in God’s eternal plan. We are here for “such a time as this”. We know that we are saved by grace through faith, and that this is not of our own doing, but rather, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). But the next verse reads, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which god prepared beforehand that we would walk in them” (cont. No Bulletin There will be no bulletin next week. (“Pray That We…” - from page 1) — A prayer to begin your intercession — “Holy Father, I pray that I might truly recognize that I have been saved with the distinct purpose of serving You with works You have marked out for me. I am Your creation, intended by You to carry out Your plan within my family, my neighborhood. and my country. I am Yours to be used as You will. “I pray that I will see each person as an eternal soul, loved by You, and therefore, loved by me. Let me be content with where You have planted me, believing that I was created for today and that I am being led by Your hand. I truly am here “for such a time as this.” “In Jesus’ name, Amen.” — Dan CONGREGATIONAL MEETING Thanks to all who participated in the congregational meeting last Sunday. The discussion was good and several ideas were shared. The consensus seemed to be that it would be wise to begin planning to build for the future. Concerns about the electricity in this old building, as well as space, were major concerns. We are a long way from any immediate need, but planning and preparation are the first steps to being ready. It was suggested that we develop a survey sheet so that everyone could have an opportunity to respond. We will develop that as soon as possible. SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT ~He who is not grateful for what he does have will not be happy with the things that he desires to have. ~He who is ungrateful in little will also be ungrateful in much! ~If we are not thankful to God for the blessings He bestows, what reason is there to expect Him to bestow additional blessings? ~If the blessings for which we are thankful were suddenly removed, then what would our lives really be like? “Be careful for nothing: but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God” (Phil. 4:6). May your blessings be many, and may your burdens be few on this day.
