CO2 Race Cars What is a CO2 Race Car? • A CO2 race car is a model car POWERED by the release of CO2 gas from a compressed cartridge. • The release of the gas PROPELS the car forward at a high rate of speed. What is the Project? • Each Student will DESIGN, BUILD and RACE their own CO2 race car. • Races will be conducted in June, out in the Garden Level hallway. • Race times (How much time it takes your car to travel 60 ft.) will be kept. • Who will have the fastest car in 8th Grade? Before we begin . . . What will help to make your car go faster ? Aerodynamics • The dynamics of atmospheric interactions with moving objects. 4 Forces of Aerodynamics: 1. Drag 2. Draft 3.
